The three-shot Challenge Tour victory comes after signing with the brand last year
Lorenzo Scalise gained his maiden Challenge Tour win at the Kaskáda Golf Challenge in the Czech Republic, in his second year with leading golf apparel brand Galvin Green.
Coming second and third place twice before on the Challenge Tour, the Italian made sure to go one better in Kaskáda, playing in high temperatures to finish three shots ahead of Manuel Elvira, another player wearing Galvin Green apparel.
Leading by two heading into the final day, Scalise remained cool to card a one under par round, leaving him with rounds of 64-68-70-70 in an impressive return to the course where he finished tied second two years prior.
Finishing at 12-under par, Scalise achieved the victory wearing the striking MARK shirt in White/Grey and smart NOAH pant in Sharkskin, accompanied by the WAVE belt in white.
The short sleeve polo shirt boasts an all over metallic-look stud pattern and is part of the Galvin Green VENTIL8™ PLUS range. The high-performance collection delivers top breathability out on the golf course, combined with a built-in UV factor of 20+ to keep golfers protected in the sun.
“Signing with Galvin Green began a new chapter in my career last year and I wanted to reflect this in performances like the one over the weekend,” said Scalise. “After the first round, it was important to remain calm in the rounds that followed. Fortunately, wearing Galvin Green ensured I was comfortable throughout, even in the most pressurised situations,” he added.
Scalise’s victory took him from 15th to third in the Challenge Tour rankings, placing him in a strong position to close out the season in the top 20 – earning promotion to the DP World Tour.
“We are delighted to see Lorenzo’s victory on the Challenge Tour as another winning representative of the brand,” said Nicholai Stein, CEO of Galvin Green. “We hope this will be the start of a strong finish for Lorenzo as he seeks to achieve promotion onto the DP World Tour and advance his playing career to the next level,” he added.
Fellow Team Galvin Green player Jordan Smith enjoyed a strong showing in his second U.S. Open appearance at The Los Angeles Country Club over the weekend. The Englishman carded a four under par final round 66 to finish T20, with highlights including a 171-yard hole out eagle on the challenging par-4 5th hole.
On the Ladies European Tour, Galvin Green athlete Cara Gainer came close to securing her first LET victory at the Amundi German Masters. She carded all four rounds under par for a total of 274 to finish second after losing out in the play-off.
