KBS plays key role in PLAYERS Championship win

KBS, the only brand to offer a high-performance shaft for every club in the bag, played a key role in helping the new PLAYERS Championship winner write his name in the record books again following his second victory of the season. The 28-year-old used KBS Tour 130x (Custom Matte Black) in his 3-9 irons and the same shaft in his three wedges to help him get dialled in during a weather effected tournament that eventually climaxed to a Monday finish at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. His much-improved iron play this season is seen as one of the biggest factors in his rising to 6th in the Official Golf World Rankings along with his short game, which has long been considered among the best in the world.

The popular Australian recorded 24 birdies – the most in the field – during the tournament, including 10 in the final round en route to win the largest prize in the PGA TOUR’s history, taking $3.6 million from THE PLAYERS’ record $20 million purse. This can be added to another record-breaking week in January, where he finished on 34-under par at the Sentry Tournament of Champions in Hawaii with rounds of 65-64-64-65, marking the most under par four-round PGA Tour event in history.
