Dozens of Scottish amateur golfers – who also happen to be sports car enthusiasts – will have the chance to win a trip to Mallorca next year when they tee up for the Porsche Centre Perth Golf Day on the new-look Murrayshall Championship course on Wednesday 14 June.
Since the same event was held at the Murrayshall last year, a large investment has been made to modernise the flagship track and provide golfers with many more ‘risk & reward’ opportunities.
Those taking part next week will be competing for prized places at the National Final of the Porsche Golf Cup Great Britain 2023 in September, plus the World Final of an exclusive event for Porsche car owners that has spanned three decades.
Both the winner and runner-up of the 18-hole Stableford competition on the US-style Murrayshall Championship course will qualify automatically for the National Final at The Grove resort near London and the opportunity to represent Team GB at the prestigious World Final event.
“Hosting the Porsche Centre Perth Golf Day as part of the worldwide Porsche Golf Cup tournament is a special privilege for Murrayshall and we look forward to welcoming the sports car owners and their supporters on the day,” said Golf Events Manager Emma Lester. “There have been some significant changes to the course since the event was held here last year, and we hope that the competitors will appreciate the new layout and white sand bunkers that now offer a different challenge,” she added.
Ally McIntyre, Centre Principal at the Porsche Centre Perth, commented: “We’re delighted to return to Murrayshall for our annual Porsche Cup qualifying event and provide our local customers with an opportunity to compete in both national and international events. The Murrayshall estate offers the perfect setting for the event, with luxury hotel facilities and catering, plus a golf course that provides a good test and spectacular views of the Perthshire landscape.”
Porsche is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year and has a strong golfing pedigree, having sponsored last week’s Porsche European Open Tour event in Hamburg since 2015 and the Porsche Golf Cup for amateur players who own or live in the same household as a Porsche sports car owner since 1988.
Murrayshall was recently ranked No. 34 by National Club Golfer magazine within the Top 100 Golf Resorts in the UK & Ireland, which positioned the facility in No. 11 spot in Scotland. It offers a range of corporate and Society Day packages, including play over 27 holes and Lodge suites close to the main hotel. For more details visit www.murrayshall.co.uk.
