Former England international rugby player Mike Tindall and his royal brother-in-law Peter Phillips have both been fitted for Williams Racing Golf (WRG) clubs ahead of Mike’s charity golf day next month.

The golf-loving pair, who play together at Minchinhampton Golf Club in Gloucester, had their swings analysed at the WRG Centre of Excellence at Magnolia Park, near Bicester, Oxfordshire by club fitter Dean Davis to customise each club to their individual specification for maximum performance.

They were both put through their paces using the Williams’ Single Frequency (WSF) club assembly system that allows a full set of clubs to be made with the same flex, feel and swing weight – enabling the torque of the club to behave reliably throughout the set and increase swing consistency. A customer survey conducted by ClubstoHire.com, the No.1 golf club rental operator worldwide, has found that over 96% of golfers plan to take two or more golfing holidays during the next two years.

And of the 2,300 travelling golfers who took part in the survey, two-thirds (66%) indicated that they intend to take as many as three or more golfing holidays over the same period. Most rental customers have a handicap of 18 and above.

The results point to continued growth in the golf travel industry and are welcomed by ClubstoHire as it looks to expand a service that has helped travelling golfers save an estimated £2.7m (€3.5m/$4m) in airline excess charges over the past five years. (more…)
