Wilson Staff, the pioneering brand in low compression golf ball technology, goes into the 2017 season with a ball designed for every category of golfer featuring the DX2 Soft, the DX3 Spin and the DX3 Urethane.
The DX2 Soft golf ball – credited as the world’s softest ball with its ground-breaking 29 compression – is designed for the Distance player seeking less spin off the tee and soft feel around the greens. The 2-piece construction, first delivered in 2008, delivers the lowest driver spin rate on the market to aid accuracy off the tee while the 302 dimple pattern produces a consistent ball flight and its firm cover generates a higher trajectory to benefit long approaches to the green.
“We’ve been at the forefront of golf ball technology and low compression balls since we started and we’ll continue to conduct the research and testing needed to stay there,” said Frank Simonutti, Global Director of Innovation for Wilson Staff Golf Balls. (more…)

Less than a week after putting the new Wilson Staff FG Tour V6 forged irons in his bag, three-time Major winner Padraig Harrington won his 15th European Tour title at the Portugal Masters at the Oceanico Victoria Clube de Golf on Sunday with a masterclass of accurate approach play and solid putting.
The popular Irishman, who has played Wilson Staff clubs since 1998 in one of golf’s longest partnerships, birdied six holes in a bogey-free final round 65 to finish on -23 and win by a shot from defending champion Andy Sullivan. It was his first victory on the European Tour since 2008 and could move him back into the top 100 of the Official World Golf Rankings.
Harrington, who is renowned for his attention to detail when choosing equipment, placed the new V6 irons in his bag during a practice round earlier this week and was immediately convinced that they would deliver a good score in tournament play. (more…)
Brendan Steele won the opening event of the 2017 PGA Tour FedEx Cup season at the Safeway Open in California yesterday using Wilson Staff FG Tour clubs to outscore the field with a blistering run of birdies over the closing holes.
Three consecutive birdies at 16, 17 and 18 – including two par fives – saw him shoot an impressive 7-under par final round of 65 to win his second PGA Tour title by a shot and secure a place at The Masters in April.
The win in his home State was all the sweeter as he had led the same event last year over 54 holes, only to fall back in the final round. “This was a little bit of redemption from last year…and it’s nice to close it off this way,” he said.
Steele joined the Wilson Advisory Staff in January 2015, when he switched to playing with FG Tour irons and the FG Tour PMP wedge and went on to record four top ten finishes during the year.
“I am very pleased with my performance over the past year with the FG Tour irons,” he commented. “It’s been a great experience playing a role on the Wilson Advisory Staff, helping to develop the ‘Feel player’ clubs, and I’m really excited about the FG Tour V6 irons.”
The new Wilson Staff FG Tour V6 irons have been designed for the golfer who values ultimate feel, precision shot-shaping and feedback, while the PMP wedges feature Precision Milled Performance technology which widens the grooves for maximum spin on full shots.
