Sun Mountain, market leader in premium golf bags, is introducing a flagship waterproof carry bag model as part of its comprehensive range for the 2017 season that offers golfers a choice from seven outstanding stand bags.
The collection also introduces a new premium Leather Collection to the golf bag market, plus upgrades to the popular Three5 and Four5 styles in the lightweight stand-bag category driven by the brand.
“The 2017 Sun Mountain bag range is packed with super- lightweight and super-looking bags,” said Tony Fletcher, Brand Fusion UK Sales Manager. “Golfers are going to love the colour combinations as well as the quality features that the brand has become synonymous with after three decades of dedicated design and production.”
Weighing just 1.8 kg, the Sun Mountain H2NO Superlite bag maintains the brand’s strong pedigree in pioneering lightweight, waterproof bags. While retaining tried-and-tested components from previous top-selling models, it incorporates added features for improved performance and easier use for golfers. For example, the H2NO Superlite boasts a wider flared top width (23cm) with four full-length club dividers and a new lift assist lip under the ball pocket, while the X-strap dual strap system combined with a Zero-Gravity hip-pad makes for a comfortable carry. Brendan Steele won the opening event of the 2017 PGA Tour FedEx Cup season at the Safeway Open in California yesterday using Wilson Staff FG Tour clubs to outscore the field with a blistering run of birdies over the closing holes.
Three consecutive birdies at 16, 17 and 18 – including two par fives – saw him shoot an impressive 7-under par final round of 65 to win his second PGA Tour title by a shot and secure a place at The Masters in April.
The win in his home State was all the sweeter as he had led the same event last year over 54 holes, only to fall back in the final round. “This was a little bit of redemption from last year…and it’s nice to close it off this way,” he said.
Steele joined the Wilson Advisory Staff in January 2015, when he switched to playing with FG Tour irons and the FG Tour PMP wedge and went on to record four top ten finishes during the year.
“I am very pleased with my performance over the past year with the FG Tour irons,” he commented. “It’s been a great experience playing a role on the Wilson Advisory Staff, helping to develop the ‘Feel player’ clubs, and I’m really excited about the FG Tour V6 irons.”
The new Wilson Staff FG Tour V6 irons have been designed for the golfer who values ultimate feel, precision shot-shaping and feedback, while the PMP wedges feature Precision Milled Performance technology which widens the grooves for maximum spin on full shots.

“When the Tour players first hit the V6 irons they wanted them in the bag straight away,” said Michael Vrska, Wilson Golf’s Global Director of Innovation. “Thanks to their feedback and the innovative design, we’re now able see Tour irons for the better player in the hands of regular golfers and not just professionals,” he added.
